PlantWorld is owned and run by Martin Hurt, a Kew-trained professional horticulturist. Martin is supported by Connie, his wife, and a team of friendly, helpful staff.
Almost 30 years ago, PlantWorld began in a field in Milton on Stour, a small village on the outskirts of Gillingham, Dorset. Gradually, Martin has developed the business into the thriving retail plant centre it is today.
Originally selling a limited range of home grown plants, PlantWorld now stocks thousands of plant lines, including roses, trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials and seasonal bedding plants. Complimenting the plants, the shop provides a large and varied selection of pots, planters and containers, seeds, bulbs, tools, compost and fertilisers. PlantWorld also stocks virtually all the sundry items you need for your garden. If you can’t immediately find something, it is always worth mentioning what you’re looking for to a member of Martin’s team, as stock is frequently refreshed.
